Ultralight design delivers a propulsive feel from a 10K to a marathon

The Vaporfly 4 'Eliud Kipchoge' is a lean, mean, mile-eating machine. We trimmed weight in the midsole, outsole and upper from the Vaporfly 3, without sacrificing performance. The result is a lighter, more propulsive all-round racing shoe that's trusted from the mile to the marathon.

Behind the design: Eliud Kipchoge says achieving your dream isn't a solo endeavour, so we utilised his community in designing this shoe. His family influenced the colour selection and the multi-style Swoosh logo, which represents the strength behind a team. "No human is limited" nods to the endless possibilities you have with a support system.

Lighter upper: The engineered mesh helps reduce the weight of the shoe while providing a more consistent fit. And we saved more weight by reducing the size of the heel and tongue.

Lighter foam: Nike ZoomX, our most responsive foam, just got lighter. Running from heel to toe, it unlocks even more energy return than before with a slight midsole reduction, giving you a bouncy feel.

Lighter outsole: We reduced the weight of the outsole by using a thinner rubber compared with the Vaporfly 3.

Full Speed: The full-length carbon-fibre Flyplate has a higher angle than the Vaporfly 3 and is combined with a lower heel-to-toe drop to give you a propulsive feel on race day.
