Dr. Martens Made in England Vintage collection continues to be made in our original Wellingborough, factory. The cobblers use the original construction techniques to create this 3-Eyelet 1461 Shoe in Quilon Leather, a re-issue of the original Dr Martens classic leather. The leather is durable, with a smooth finish and is made on our 59 Last: offering our most classic fit.
Product Features
- Quilon Leather is crafted using traditional processes and features a contrast base colour for a two-tone finish.
- This is a Goodyear-welted product. The upper and sole are heat-sealed and sewn together, not merely glued like many footwear constructions.
- The Dr. Martens air-cushioned sole is oil and fat-resistant, offers good abrasion and slip resistance and small visible indentations left on the welt by the original stitching machine making these shoes unique to Dr. Martens
- Our Made in England footwear may come with either a gold or yellow scripted heel loop
- The toughness of the leather gives a vintage aesthetic, although is stiff to break in. TIP TO BREAK IN: Wear our Double Doc Cotton Blend Socks which have cushioning in all the right places!

First of all, the service and shipping time of "Boutique Retailer" is great! Now the shoes: Certainly the Martens are better than any of those $100 "standard Chinese" shoes we bought for our kids as school shoes. I used to wear Martens when I was young, I may be mistaken and the kids use theirs more often, but even when my girls are wearing Martens these days, the life span is less than 1.5 years, I believe I used my Martens (back then still made in England) longer.
However, the ones you buy here these days outlast pairs (other brands) we used to buy for our teenage daughters. Oh, not to forget: The coolness factor is also important :-)
These are genuine Dr Marten's and as such come with the comfort and quality you expect. A quality product that is the best on your feet when you're on your feet all day.
