Quilon is a re-issue of the original classic leather, durable with a smooth finish and a contrast base colour for a two-tone finish; the toughness gives a vintage look but it is stiff to break in, so wear the Double Doc cotton blend socks. Goodyear welted, with the small indentations the original stitching machine leaves on the welt; the heel-loop may be gold or yellow. UK sizes 6.5 to 11.

First of all, the service and shipping time of "Boutique Retailer" is great! Now the shoes: Certainly the Martens are better than any of those $100 "standard Chinese" shoes we bought for our kids as school shoes. I used to wear Martens when I was young, I may be mistaken and the kids use theirs more often, but even when my girls are wearing Martens these days, the life span is less than 1.5 years, I believe I used my Martens (back then still made in England) longer.
However, the ones you buy here these days outlast pairs (other brands) we used to buy for our teenage daughters. Oh, not to forget: The coolness factor is also important :-)
